The Riverside Learning & Education Centre in Liverpool offers a range of teaching assistant courses to help individuals get back on the right track to reaching their career goals. We offer opportunities for a range of situations from junior and senor school, special schools and higher education.

Funding and application

We know how hard it can be to fund your studies, especially when juggling many other financial demands. All our courses qualify for the Advanced Learner Loan to help assist with this. We'll aid you with the application and ensure the whole process is straight-forward. One less thing to worry about!

Level 3 Diploma

If you're considering becoming a teaching assistant, our NCFE CACHE Level 3 Diploma in Support for Teaching and Learning course could be perfect for you. Our supportive environment will help you become a skilled and qualified teaching assistant within 12-15 months.

Level 4 Certificate

Available to employed and experienced Teaching Assistants, this qualification opens up opportunities for promotion in the sector and is perfect for those striving to become a HLTA. Generally, you will be Level 3 qualified, but extended experience and support from your employer i.e. Head Teacher would suffice.

The Focus Awards Level 4 Certificate for Higher Level Teaching Assistants (RQF) will provide learners with the knowledge and understanding when analysing and addressing the different challenges that classroom assistants are likely to encounter. Learners will also understand working with individuals and with small groups as well as gaining essential insight into supporting pupils with special educational needs (SEN).
